12 New Products BEAUTY BAY Staff Tried & Loved Last Month

Working at BEAUTY BAY has its many perks and that includes getting to try out all the latest and greatest in beauty. This month, we’ve been trying out some of the latest new brands to drop in our ‘New In’ section, so we thought we’d share our favourites with you. Whatever you’re into, chances are we’ve tried it out and are thoroughly obsessed.

‘I’ve heard BIG things about MIJ Masks so I was super excited to try. I love an under-eye mask as I’m prone to bags for life under my eyes. These were super hydrating and soothing, took away any puffiness and didn’t smell chemically at all! My skin felt refreshed and my under eyes looked hydrated instantly – I’m definitely a new MIJ Masks fan!’

‘This is the absolute holy grail cosmetic product I can’t stay away from. This foundation has been a part of my life for a good 10 years so yes its ‘iconic’ status is well and truly justified. I’ve used it when my skin has been blemish prone, oily, and now more dry and can honestly say it’s always worked really well. Great coverage, blends easily, natural matte finish and stays put ALL day whatever the weather – tried and tested on hot hols and through snow.’

‘WOW!! I’m obsessed! The new Youthforia Dewy Gloss is my new fave gloss. To find a lip gloss that isn’t sticky has been a mission. I’m so glad to have found this new makeup bag staple! The gloss works perfectly when paired with a liner but works incredibly well when used on its own. I found the pigment superb, and it had a noticeable hydrating effect on my lips. My favourite way to use the Youthforia Dewy Gloss is to first exfoliate my lips, before allowing the gloss to shine solo – the pigmentation is unrivalled.’

‘Although I am a makeup girlie, I have never really experimented with using liquid pigments before, so I was super excited to try out the Danessa Myricks Colourfix in shade Real Love to put together a matching eye and lip look. As a liquid pigment newbie I found that this was easy to apply with either a brush or your fingers but watch out when blending on the eyes and cheeks as it dries down pretty quickly! The colour payoff is amazing and once dry the finish is smudge proof which is perfect when used as a lipstick (no more lip prints on your cocktail glass!) Danessa products have been on my radar for a while now and after seeing how versatile the liquid pigments can be I will definitely be adding some more colours to my makeup collection.’

‘I Dew Care’s Juicy Kitten Purifying Power-Green serum is truly like a health-kick for your skin. With kale, spirulina and chlorella, this product is the skincare equivalent of a green juice that will leave your skin feeling super nourished. I use the serum overnight, post-cleanse, and top it with a hydrating night cream. I wake up with dewy, glowy skin every time I use it. I also occasionally use the serum as part of my AM routine to calm down blemishes and redness before applying SPF. You need this if you’re looking for a quick skin detox!’

‘I tend to have quite sensitive skin and I’m also acne prone. Coming into winter my skin has been drier and flakey, the water gel cream has helped to hydrate. The refreshing and cooling texture has left my skin feeling fresh and nourished without any greasy residue. 100% will be using this again!’

‘This is definitely a go to product if you have very sparce brows (like me!). It easily fills in any gaps within your brows without using lots of product and is long wear which is great! The Wonder Wand application brush is also the perfect size to shape your brow with the Wonder Whip Pomade but also to create false hairs for a more natural brow look. Overall, a great product that is easy to apply with great results! To finish off brows, I’ve also used Pink Honey’s Wonder Wax to thicken the appearance of my brows which I’d also recommend using!’

‘Trying to get my super straight hair to hold a curl is shockingly hard. I have a great curler, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years of interrogating hair stylists, it’s that the secret to getting curls to stick around is more about the products you use than the tools. After years of testing wave sprays and curl creams, who knew that the answer would be to add a curl-focused shampoo and conditioner into my haircare routine? This duo gives my roots the lift and my lengths the separation needed to help my hair maintain a wave for days (and not just hours!) after washing.’

‘As someone with not the strongest brow, I am always on the lookout for brow products that make my thin hairs look fuller and fluffier. This tinted brow glue is activated with water or setting spray, and with a swish of a spoolie my brows look instantly laminated! I like to use the shade Cola Cubes alone on a minimal makeup day, whilst pairing with the Wonder Whip Pencil in Brownie Points to fill in the sparser areas on more full-face days. Unlike other brow pencils I have tried, this pencil actually works on top of brow soap due to the waxier texture. I don’t always love the look of each hair glued down so instead run through with a clean spoolie while the product is still malleable to achieve a fluffier, textured effect. Plus, it lasts all day and night!’

‘It’s official, my winter skin has arrived. But praise be to the By BEAUTY BAY Hydration Collection. First things first, the Hydrating Gel Mask. I have been using this a couple times a week in balance with a clay mask. I was a little nervous at first, as previous to using my acne had really flared up, but the cooling agent of the gel really soothed my irritated skin. Next up, well, I’ll say one thing, I have found a new lip balm love in the By BEAUTY BAY Hydrating Lip SOS Mask. A rarity. It’s thick consistency works wonders for my cracked lips. I’ll be carrying this everywhere! And finally, saving the best to last is the Hydrating Eye Treatment. I’m obsessed with eye creams, the age of 27 is fast approaching and so are the lines, eeek! But applying this daily keeps the dark circles at bay. This will be a repurchase for me!’
