If you’re anything like me, I start my planning my Eid look at the beginning of Ramadan and there’s nothing more exciting than finding new products to play around with. Regardless of whether lockdown has been lifted in time for Eid this year, we can still get all glammed up and gift our Instagram followers with the much anticipated ‘Eid selfie.’
To save you the time spent scrolling through Instagram for inspiration, we’ve done the hard work for you and found the looks we love most – served with tips and product recommendations so you can recreate them at home.
If you’re tired of repeating the same look every Eid, why not recreate this masterpiece by @begum_sham? Using the latest addition to the Anastasia Beverly Hill’s palette family, the Amrezy Palette, you’ll find the perfect shades of pink and vibrant blue to recreate this dreamy eye look. Team it with the Ofra x Madison Miller Highlighter in Moondance to make sure you’re the brightest looking glazed doughnut at your lockdown Eid gathering and see the compliments fly in on how radiant you look. This look by @manal is so simple, yet such a statement and is so easy to recreate. If you’ve been intimidated when it comes to playing around with vibrant colours in the past, fear not – Melt Cosmetic’s Gel Liners are easy to use and are incredibly pigmented. If you’re looking for the perfect electric blue, we’d recommend using the shade Santos. But with a selection of seven different colours which are all equally pigmented, why not play around and find the best shade to go with your outfit? And of course, you’ll need the perfect gloss and blusher combo to give you the same natural looking complexion as @manal. Revolution Pro’s Hydra Gloss in Become is a beautiful ‘barely there’ gloss and goes well with Milani’s Baked Blush in Dolce Pink.
This fierce cat-eye look by @sheikhbeauty is probably my go-to Eid look. What’s not to love about a contoured face, bold lip and statement eye? You can never go wrong. Makeup Revolution’s Awesome Felt and Kohl Eyeliner is perfect to recreate this killer cat-eye. Use the felt tip to create the sharpest flick and the kohl pencil to add extra darkness to your waterline. If you want to smoke it out, use a black eyeshadow to go over the liner and blend it out with a brush. And to add extra dimension, apply your favourite dramatic lashes. My personal favourites are House of Lashes’ Iconic Lite lashes which are dramatic enough to add some flare but soft enough to make them comfortable enough for everyday wear. To get a gradient lip-effect, we’d recommend using two different shades of red and blending them together. We love using Kevyn Aucoin’s Molten Matte Lipstick in Kate on our lip line and Julia on our inner lip to create the perfect two-toned red lip. And I guarantee you’ll barely need to top it up throughout the day.
Who doesn’t love a bit of soft glam? it’s safe to say that @nabela is definitely the queen of it by now. If you’re looking for a more toned-down but exciting look, why not recreate this classic? My favourite trick to get a glow like Nabela’s is by using a liquid highlighter underneath my foundation. OPV Beauty’s Illuminator in Star Light is perfect for making your base look fresh and radiant, especially after a long day of virtual Eid parties and socialising. Finish your eyes with Doll Beauty’s Arianna Mink Lashes – they have so much volume, you’ll be fluttering your eyelashes all day. To get a blush as pigmented as Nabela’s, we’d recommend using a cream blush such as Florence By Mills Cheek Me Later Cream Blush in Stella Sabrina for a flushed vibe.
Oh, how I hope neon never goes out of fashion. This look by @lifelongpercussion is the perfect statement if you want to add some vibrancy to your Eid look.
