I’m not going to lie to you I used to hate wearing SPF. Most formulas I tried felt thick, and heavy, or would pill when I applied makeup. My skin is also more on the oily side of the spectrum, is super sensitive, and I’m prone to breakouts, so I’ve always struggled to find an SPF that didn’t make my face look greasy and oily, or contribute to breakouts.
The day I discovered Carbon Theory’s Day-Lite SPF50+ I realised I’d found a gamechanger. With a light, fluid texture (almost like a serum), this SPF doesn’t feel heavy or chalky, instead it absorbs quickly and without leaving skin looking shiny or feeling sticky. I’m obsessed with this SPF because it wears beautifully throughout the day and has never broken me out or caused any issues with my sensitivity. It helps that it’s fragrance free (great for sensitive skin) and dermatologist tested so you know you’re getting the best of the best.
Not only does this protect my skin from harmful rays, it has helped the overall appearance of my skin. I love it for no makeup days and its sits perfectly underneath a heavy glam too. I find that it layers really with all foundations – it doesn’t cause any pilling or peeling, and in fact it helps to smooth skin, almost like a primer. One of the things I was most surprised about was the gorgeous glow it gives to the skin which makes this the perfect dewy makeup base. I’d go as far as to say I often skip the primer step altogether because this does the job so well.
I’m now full converted to wearing SPF 365 days a year – sunscreen isn’t just for summer! Day Lite has seen me through the hottest summer days in Turkish sunshine as well as snowy, freezing cold days in the UK. I’ve been using this religiously for over a year now – I don’t think I’ve ever been so loyal to a product – if you do try this I can guarantee you’ll never want to stop using it.
