Formulated with attention to detail, Aēsop has the highest quality ingredients and efficient formulas at its core. Created with sensory pleasure in mind, Aēsop’s products are just as much about how they make you feel good, as they are about looking great on your bathroom shelf. Focused on product research and development, their team of scientists work on bringing you the best ideas, blends, and products for you to fall in love with. With a blend of botanical and scientific ingredients from reputable suppliers across the globe, Aēsop’s products have become some of our most coveted beauty favourites. Find out more below about some of the ingredients you’ll find inside an Aēsop bottle.
Parsley Seed
Perhaps the most well-known of Aēsop’s ingredients, parsley seed is a hero in their collection. Packed with antioxidants and high in vitamin C, parsley seed has so many beauty benefits that the list could go on forever. The anti-inflammatory, skin soothing properties of this ingredient work to restore balance to the skin, control oil and sebum production (making it great for acne-prone skin types), as well as fighting free radicals. You’ll find it in most of Aēsop’s hero products, but one of our faves is the Parsley Seed Antioxidant Serum. Enriched with a variety of strong antioxidants to soothe and calm irritation, this serum works to hydrate and soften all skin types, but works particularly well on combination and oily skin.
Geranium Leaf
Another botanical ingredient that you’ll come across in Aēsop’s stash is geranium leaf. Geranium leaf acts as a great, natural astringent which basically cleanses the skin’s surface whilst also firming the skin, meaning that it can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that soothe the skin, whilst also regulating oil, moisture, and sebum levels, restoring balance to the skin. We love Aēsop’s physical body exfoliator, the Geranium Leaf Body Scrub. Geranium leaf is combined with natural pumice and bamboo stem particles that buff any away dead skin cells leaving your limbs feeling refreshed, renewed, and cleansed.
Coriander Seed
When is comes to cooking, people either love coriander or they hate it. But let us tell you that when it’s in your skincare, you’re always going to love it. Filled with antioxidants that destroy free radicals and skin boosting vitamin C, this ingredient helps to cleanse and brighten the skin. It’s also antibacterial and anti-inflammatory (there’s a theme running her), meaning that it soothes and calms the skin as it cleanses. The Coriander Seed Body Cleanser is a warming, spicy formula the effectively refreshes the skin on a daily basis. Coriander seed is combined with black peppercorns that live the skin feeling stimulated and warmed, whilst the spicy, woody scent fills your bathroom.
Panthenol
Panthenol, AKA provitamin B5, is a humectant hydrator that draws water into the skin, leaving it feeling soft, plump, and moisturised. It’s found in some of our favourite serums and moisturisers thanks to the way it softens and balances the skin, resulting in greater skin elasticity. Not only does it effectively hydrate, but it’s also great at healing the skin. The Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Intense Serum harnesses the power of panthenol to brighten, hydrate, and nourish delicate skin. The inclusion of blue chamomile and lavender have a calming effect, meaning this serum is a favourite for adding lightweight hydration.
Mandarin Rind
As the name might suggest, mandarin rind is a citrus, which means that it’s a natural ingredient that is a rich source of vitamin C – the original brightening ingredient that’s packed with antioxidants. Also rich in vitamin E, mandarin rind really helps to soften and condition the skin, as well as reducing signs of agining and working to heal wounds. This makes it the perfect ingredient for the Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm, a super nourishing hand balm that’s packed with skin softening emollients, resulting in hydrated hands with no greasy residue. Plus, the citrusy, herbaceous scent almost smells good enough to eat (but please don’t).
Vitamin C
If you’re truly beauty obsessed, then you’ll know all too well just how many benefits vitamin C has for our skin. The go-to ingredient for radiance, vitamin C is packed with potent antioxidants that balance and fortify the skin. Although it helps our faces to look healthy, plumped, and glowy, it’s just as beneficial for the body too, hence why we love the Body Cleansing Slab. This gentle, creamy, pH balanced soap is the secret to giving your skin a boost.
